Reverse engineering productivity is greatly advanced when system-specific tools are available. To that end, PRIME Integration announces the release of the Ramp-Up™ software toolkit. Each of these tools is capable of extracting configuration data from DCS files, displaying it in multiple user-friendly formats, and converting it to detail design documentation. Here is a list of the services available using these tools:

CCF Extractor - Parameters, such as loop and device definitions, alarm settings and I/O configurations can be read, displayed and exported. Both transition files and Oracle table data can be read. Data that has been exported to Excel includes hyperlinks to all related loops.  In addition, loop drawings are auto-generated in Microsoft Visio® format. These drawings include hyperlinks to related loops.

CCF Math FCM Interpreter - This tool reads Math blocks from a CCF database and displays the contents on a single screen without needing access to a Mod 300 system. It allows you to execute the logic without a controller. You can single step through the logic and set break points in the same way you test TCL today.

TCL Extractor - Parameters, such as variable names, database tag names, subroutine names and step names can be read, displayed and exported.  In addition, Halstead and McCabe cyclomatic complexity metrics are calculated.

Batch Extractor - All parameters, including header variables, formula variables, equipment, phase names and phase parameters can be read, displayed and exported. Data that has been exported to Excel includes a hyperlinked representation of the procedure grid.

Graphics Extractor - Parameters, including tag names, dialogs and graphic shapes can be can be read, displayed and exported in design document formats.

PRIME Integration has developed packaged reports that summarize detail data in powerful ways. These reports greatly assist with the task of identifying “standard solutions” or patterns in the data.

In addition, PRIME Integration offers its migration engineering services to develop Functional Design Specifications on either a time/materials or fixed price basis.
